Job Opportunity For Senior Manager – Media Relations (HO) At Child Rights And You In Kolkata

The Role
You would be a key person in the HO / National media to participate in the selection of core media relations priorities and support the team to create a media engagement annual/ 3 year plan for the National media.

In terms of Media collaboration, you would have to build an organic and vibrant network of journalists, columnists and media professionals, media educators and academics as a community to ensure adequate buy-in from various media publications, platforms, institutes and Universities.

You would also document the work CRY does on the ground, develop stories of change, both in written and audio-visual formats, from various sources from the CRY intervention areas, write data-driven articles with jwith program-inputs on child-rights issues for various media publications and ; develop message points and sound bites in response to media queries. You would be supporting the function in finalising the external communication that goes out to the national media.

You would identify, cultivate and expand a network of contacts among stakeholders, communities, journalists and media academics.

You:

• You should be a Graduate/ Post Graduate in Mass Communication or Journalism with 7 to 9 years’ experience in journalism or media relations/ advocacy.
• An understanding and experience of the media, a background in journalism is a huge plus.
• Excellent communication skills and experience/ understanding of data-journalism and various genres of storytelling is required.
• You must also have an understanding of the national media and its dynamics across the country.
