About – Entrepreneurial Mindset  Project (Schools):

At Udhyam we believe in the “learning by doing” approach. What better way to build entrepreneurial mindsets than trying entrepreneurship hands on?

The Udhyam Entrepreneurial Mindset program is a 4 year journey between Grades 9 and 12, designed using the principles of Learning by Doing, Student Autonomy/Agency and Real world experience.  The objective of the program is to equip Government school students with the requisite ‘entrepreneurial mindsets’ and skill sets that can help them thrive in the emerging world order which is punctuated by  constant change and the need to continuously evolve and learn.

To deepen our impact, we leverage robust processes and technology to improve content delivery, deepen implementation quality and effectively monitor our impact and outcomes. 

We are looking for a State Senior Manager (North) who can lead one of our State programs in Northern India.  The Senior Manager will be a part of the core team, will work closely with the government partners and work with Udhyam’s internal teams to maximise reach and impact of the program.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Program Strategy and Management: The Senior Manager of the State program will hold the vision of the state and drive towards the mission of aligning Udhyams State mission with the broader mission of ‘Making Bharat Entrepreneurial’.  Define program goals and implementation strategy, prepare and execute project plan, define and evolve ownership areas of team members and stakeholders, regularly review progress and strategy
  • Stakeholder Management:  Build robust relationships with key stakeholders ranging from SCERT,  Dept of Education and other key stakeholders who can influence the success of the program and drive the entrepreneurial capital in the state.  Establish clear expectations and proactively manage stakeholders to engage towards maximum program impact.
  • Partnerships:  Build strong partnerships with the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem of the state and integrate them to collaborate with the School department.  Such partners could range from Innovation ecosystem partners, Mentors,  Leading Regional Academic & Research Institutions and Local entrepreneurs.
  • Data Driven Operations & Planning:   Responsible for end to end operations and delivery.  Strong ‘field cum data mindset’ which combines using tech and data dashboards to monitor program delivery across the state, along with visiting the field to observe the actual ground level implementation across classrooms. 

Skills, Experience and Mindsets:

  • Must be willing to travel and work in any State in the North
  • 8+ years of experience working collaboratively with govt stakeholders on large scale programs
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi 
  • Mission First:  Must be driven by the larger vision and mission of transforming the entrepreneurial culture within the state through our programs and beyond
  • Zoom in Zoom Out – Comfortable working with a diverse group of individuals to meet project objectives within established timelines; can effectively move from strategy to details in a seamless way
  • Bias for action – Hands on with operations, willing to pilot and experiment with different strategies, interact regularly with students and various stakeholders across the state
  • Ownership –  High degree of accountability for the quality and timeliness of the outcomes of the program, with high degree of ownership for highs and lows
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
  • Experience in Education sector or Program Management Unit
  • Comfortable with MS Office
