**Job Summary:**
The Senior Manager, Urban Infrastructure Finance, India will lead the finance workstream of the Laneshift Initiative, focusing on decarbonizing freight transport and supporting the broader implementation of inclusive city climate action in India. This role requires extensive experience in finance, transportation, and infrastructure within the Indian context, coupled with strong strategic thinking and collaborative skills. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector companies, financial institutions, and city officials.
**Responsibilities:**
* Lead the finance workstream of the Laneshift Initiative to decarbonize freight transport in India.
* Develop a comprehensive finance support strategy addressing challenges related to freight decarbonization and inclusive city climate action.
* Conduct landscape analyses of finance needs, identifying potential partners and financial mechanisms.
* Engage with financiers (multilateral banks, national development finance institutions, asset managers, etc.) to secure investment in zero-emission freight and broader climate initiatives.
* Build capacity within cities to attract and utilize funding for climate action through training and peer support.
* Collaborate with internal C40 teams to ensure alignment with global programs and share best practices.
* Manage consultants and support technical assistance needs related to finance.
* Support program reporting and communications efforts.
* Represent C40 at relevant events and speaking engagements.
**Qualifications:**
* Degree in Finance, Economics, Transportation, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Over 8-10 years of experience in finance, transportation, infrastructure, economics, and climate change in India.
* Extensive finance experience in government, business, research, or NGO sectors, with a focus on inclusive climate action.
* Knowledge of global best practices in financing decarbonization at municipal, national, and international levels.
* Experience with business case development, financial modeling, and quantitative analysis of transport infrastructure.
* Demonstrated project management experience, including managing concurrent activities and consultants.
* Strong strategic thinking, outcome-oriented approach, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
* Experience working with complex multi-stakeholder partnerships (banks, financial institutions, government officials, investors).
* Experience in report writing, policy briefs, and communication of complex information.
* Excellent convening and facilitation skills.
* Fluency in English (spoken and written).
* Right to work in India.
**Compensation:** (Grade 3) INR 2,411,579 (gross per annum)
