Function/Team: Instruction Specialist / Personalised Learning Team
Location: Mumbai / Pune
Compensation: Based on skill sets, experience and sector standards.
Overview of the Team: The Instruction Specialist / Personalised Learning team is uniquely positioned to implement Akanksha’s vision that aims at the holistic development of each child. At Akanksha we teach using a self-designed curriculum based on the principles of authenticity, inquiry and skill-development. The team designs and develops content for the Akanksha curriculum. It trains teachers and School leaders to develop strong instructional practices. The team works to identify and bridge achievement gaps through systematic data-driven inquiry. Over the next 3 years this team will lead Akanksha’s move towards Personalised Learning using the Blended Learning Model.
What your role will entail:
● Serves as the Leader of Akanksha’s ‘School to College’ Program (Grades 9+10) that’s aimed at 2 big priorities –
○ Excellent performance in the SSC exams
○ Preparing students to be ready for, and be successful in Junior College
● Curates additional content / resources that is relevant and aligned to the units and that can be used in addition to the SSC content to make the high school learning experience richer.
● Helps curate common assessments for grades 9/10.
● Builds an outcome oriented and data driven instruction culture in our High Schools across the network
● Curate and Codify the ‘Recommended Best Practices’ for High School working closely with school leaders.
● Facilitate a ‘Community of Practice’ in the network SLs aimed at best practice sharing, information exchange aimed at high school success.
● Create a roadmap / skill acquisition targeting college readiness in partnership with the ASE team and lead implementation in partnership with SLs.
● Builds Educator Capacity through through learning spaces / workshops that train Coaches/SLs/Mentors/Teachers on –
- Understanding our pedagogical approach, skills progression and content choices.
- Implementing Akanksha Best Practices in the classroom towards High School Success.
● Manage city based high school operations and be the interface between schools and Ops / GR.
● Support schools with SEN students and to effectively cater to their learning needs.
What you need for this Position:
Experience
● Minimum 8 years of professional experience with specific experience in curriculum or school development
● Minimum 5 years of School Leadership experience is required for this position
● Previous experience of working with grades 9 & 10 is required
● In depth experience in the design, integration, implementation, and management of an instructional model, including knowledge of curricula, instructional practices, school operations and management

Education
● An advanced degree in Education is preferable
