### **Clean Energy Programme Overview**  

The Clean Energy programme seeks to catalyze inclusive green energy transitions in India’s eastern and northeastern states. The goal is to support the development of renewable energy (RE) resources, particularly distributed RE, to meet the 500 GW target by 2030.  

 

iFOREST works closely with implementors, regulators, policymakers at the state level, industry representatives, and civil society/ research organizations. The programme involves independent research, structured engagement, and implementation support initiatives.

 

 

### **Key Responsibilities**  

The Senior Programme Associate will lead and execute research and engagement activities for the Clean Energy Programme. Key responsibilities include:  

 

1. **Research Execution:**  

   – Support and design research initiatives, including strategy and methodology development.  

   – Conduct in-depth primary and secondary research (quantitative and qualitative).  

   – Write analytical reports, policy papers, and other research documents.  

   – Mentor junior researchers.  

 

2. **Policy Engagement and Outreach:**  

   – Design and implement outreach strategies.  

   – Build partnerships with government, industry, and civil society stakeholders.  

   – Author articles and communication materials for public, government, and donor audiences.  

   – Organize roundtables, convenings, and report release events.  

 

3. **Programme Building:**  

   – Contribute to shaping the programme’s strategy aligned with institutional priorities.  

   – Identify new pathways, initiatives, and partnerships.  

   – Develop concept notes, proposals, theory of change, and budgets for projects.  

 

4. **Additional Duties:**  

   – Represent iFOREST on public platforms to enhance brand visibility.  

   – Manage multiple assignments and ensure timely completion of research.  

   – Travel as required.  

 

 

### **Qualifications & Work Experience**  

– **Education:** Master’s degree from a recognized institution in management, economics, public policy, energy policy, renewable energy technology, or a related field.  

– **Experience:** 5–8 years of work experience in research, consulting, or advisory roles, focusing on the renewable energy sector.  

– **Competencies:**  

  – Comprehensive understanding of India’s clean energy policies and regulations at national and sub-national levels.  

  – Knowledge of ongoing discussions around clean energy and climate change.  

  – Technical knowledge of the power sector is preferred.  

  – Proficiency in research tools (Excel, R, QGIS) and multi-stakeholder engagement.  

  – Demonstrated ability to build connections with diverse stakeholders.  

  – Authored at least two research publications related to clean energy in the last five years.
