**About the Clean Energy Programme:**

 

iFOREST’s Clean Energy Programme addresses the regional imbalance in India’s renewable energy expansion.  The programme aims to catalyze inclusive green energy transitions in eastern and northeastern states, supporting the development of renewable energy (including distributed RE) to contribute to the 500 GW target by 2030.  This involves working with state-level implementors, regulators, policymakers, industry representatives, and civil society/research organizations through research, engagement, and implementation support.

 

**Job Summary:**

 

The Senior Programme Associate will be responsible for executing research and engagement outputs for the Clean Energy Programme. This involves conducting impactful research and supporting multi-stakeholder engagement to enable renewable energy growth in eastern region states.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Support and execute research initiatives, including designing research assignments, developing methodologies, and identifying specific activities.

* Conduct in-depth primary and secondary research (quantitative and qualitative).

* Write research documents, including analytical reports and policy papers.

* Mentor junior researchers.

* Stay updated on clean energy sector developments.

* Support outreach and communication initiatives, contributing to strategy design and creating communication materials.

* Build and maintain policy-research partnerships.

* Present research findings to various audiences.

* Contribute to programme strategy development, identifying new initiatives and partnerships.

* Support the development of concept notes, proposals, and budgets.

* Represent iFOREST on public platforms.

* Perform other related assignments as needed.

 

 

**Qualifications & Experience:**

 

* Master’s degree from a recognized institution in management, economics, public policy, energy policy, renewable energy technology, or a related field.

* 5-8 years of work experience in research, consulting, or advisory roles focused on the renewable energy sector.

 

**Required Competencies:**

 

* Comprehensive understanding of India’s clean energy sector, policies, programmes, regulations, and initiatives at national and sub-national levels.

* Knowledge of international and national clean energy and climate change discussions.

* Technical knowledge of the power sector (preferred).

* Proficiency in research and writing (at least two relevant publications in the last five years).

* Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods (Excel, R, QGIS).

* Experience managing research teams.

* Proficiency in multi-stakeholder engagement.

* Ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders.

* Existing network of stakeholders in the clean energy sector.

* Clear understanding of think tanks’ roles in policy shaping.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills.

* Willingness to travel.

* Strong communication and presentation skills.

* Passion for clean energy growth in India, particularly in eastern region states.
