**Job Location:** Fully Remote (Specific countries listed below)

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* At least two years of experience in an SRE/Operations/DevOps role as part of a team.

* Experience supporting high-availability distributed production systems.

* Experience with database administration and support.

* Proficiency with configuration management and orchestration tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef, SaltStack).

* Familiarity with modern observability infrastructure (monitoring, metrics, and logging).

* Proficiency in shell and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Ruby).

* Strong understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals and debugging skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

 

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Deployment, configuration, and maintenance of distributed data systems comprising the data and analytics platform (Trino/Starburst, MariaDB, Dagster, dbt, Superset, Metabase).

* Implementation of data quality monitoring and alerting systems.

* Collaboration with the Fundraising team to integrate data from self-hosted and third-party sources (CiviCRM, Zendesk, Acoustic).

* Provision of increased engineering support during high-traffic campaigns.

* Creation and maintenance of internal documentation.

* Ensuring compliance with regulations (Donor Privacy Policy, GDPR, PCI DSS).

* User and permission management for data access control.

* Advising staff on data input best practices and streamlining data entry processes.

* Collaboration with Fundraising Analytics to prioritize data enhancement requests.

 

 

**Preferred Qualifications:**

 

* Experience with PCI compliance standards.

* Experience implementing containerization solutions (Docker, Kubernetes).

* Experience with package management for operating systems (Debian, etc.).

* History of contributing to open-source projects.

* Prior participation in the Wikimedia movement or free culture movement.
