**Experience Required**
* Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in the field of climate change, preferably with experience in project management and development of CDM, VCS, and Gold Standard projects.
**Job Summary**
As a Specialist, Technical, Sustainable Technologies, Climate Projects, you will play a crucial role in assessing, developing, and delivering GHG emission reduction products for South Asia & Middle East. This role focuses on the technical and commercial aspects of Sustainable Technology (ST) projects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Manage emission reduction projects, including drafting feasibility studies, project design documents, emission reduction spreadsheets, and providing support under various carbon standards.
* Participate in validation and verification processes and interact with VVBs/DOEs to resolve queries.
* Assist team members during site visits and travel to project locations when necessary.
* Provide technical support for project sourcing activities.
* Crosscheck internal procedures on all signed ERPAs/ERSAs according to the internal project management tool.
* Support preparation of proposals and other deliverables, ensuring they meet South Pole’s quality standards and client requirements.
* Maintain and update general project information, milestones, and cash flow in the project management software.
* Support planning and development of site visits and other business trips/training as necessary.
* Participate in networking opportunities.
* Support regional commercial teams to source new project leads and opportunities.
* Collect data from Project Owners for due diligence, financing plans, budgets, and technical, financial, and legal documentation.
**Qualifications:**
**Essential:**
* University Degree in environmental sciences, forestry, or climate change and carbon mitigation related fields; a Master’s degree is a plus.
* Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in the field of climate change, preferably with experience in project management and development of CDM, VCS, and Gold Standard projects.
* Knowledge of carbon products and markets, including project-based carbon standards, technologies, and project development processes (e.g., GS or VCS).
* Familiarity with carbon standards like CDM, VERRA, GS4GG, CCER, etc.
* Ability to work on diverse assignments, applying company policies, processes, and procedures to resolve issues.
* Strong written communication skills in English, with the ability to create proposals and deliverables.
* Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written skills in English.
* Ability to manage targets and priorities and develop personal goals.
* Valid Indian passport to travel to different countries for project site visits.
**Desirable:**
* Hands-on experience in carbon project development, from initial project assessment to issuance.
* Experience in community-based sustainable technologies projects and IREC projects.
* A strong network with various market participants, including project owners, DOEs, and government agencies.
* Flexibility and efficiency.
