Position Summary –

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Operations to support operations in Chennai. We are looking for a team player who is passionate about field operations, partnerships and has a penchant for data and evidence to drive policy changes. This would involve a minimum 2 year commitment.

Role and Responsibilities (including KRAs)

The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Work alongside the program team to identify key pathways to welfare unlock in the state of Tamil Nadu
  • Work with partner organisations on building sustainability of RTE 12.1.c processes in the state
  • Liasoning with TNeGA to work on committed targets in ToR with the department as well as donors
  • Support the ongoing M&E of the e-Sevai project by following through on tracking the indicators aligned with TNeGA and our internal theory of change
  • Engage with stakeholders for collection of high quality program data on a periodic basis and analyzing the same for internal and external M&E and reporting requirements.
  • Support fund-raising efforts and building a pipeline of potential donors for PoWER projects in TN
  • Design and undertake landscape studies and analysis, documentation and report writing in context of TN welfare schemes
  • Research and Scoping – Researching and scoping projects in the State within the framework of organization’s operational mission and vision
  • Design and undertake field research for the existing and proposed projects in the region
  • Operational Strategy & Design: Identification and framing of the problem statement for different stakeholders leading to creation of an operational/implementation plan
  • Project Implementation – Manage the team and operations (Designing and conducting campaigns, setting process with government, grievance redressal etc.) within the budget allocated and ensuring that the goals are achieved with respect to welfare delivery
  • Partnerships – Exploring and pitching partnerships with Government stakeholders and other CSOs for executing projects in the State
  • Technology – Working alongside the technology team of IA, vendors to design and implement technology solutions to problems of welfare delivery
  • Data Analysis – Using data and insights from the field to drive inclusive and evidence-based policy changes
  • Monitoring and Evaluation – Set up and manage systems that can help gauge impact and inform program implementation

Requirements

Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and government relations
  • Strong project and operations management skills
  • Strong analytical (data/evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing and validation) and research capabilities
  • Proficient with essential technology tools such as excel, powerpoint and other such functions

Education and Experience – 

  • Background in policy implementation and government relations is required
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in government relations, consulting, partnerships, project management is preferred
  • A strong local understanding – language, culture, terrain

Benefits

Compensation 

The Senior Manager will be compensated based on the Indus Action‘s compensation benchmarking rubric. The range of compensation will be between 5-8 LPA depending on qualifications, experience and fit to the role

The candidate would need to use his/her own laptop and the organization will bear the annual maintenance cost upto 12000 per year as per actuals.
