Job Description

At Simple Education Foundation (SEF) we work with the government to build state-wide strengthening programs for teachers and principals to increase the standard of teaching in government schools across India. Our mission is to strengthen 1 million educators by 2028.

About the role

Punjab State Program is an educator-focused intervention in partnership with Quality & Innovation Cell and State Council for Education Research and Training, Punjab. The program aims to collaboratively work with the state’s leadership to design and implement high-quality professional development programs for educators. 

The aim is to revamp the content and pedagogy of educators’ professional development along with monitoring the impact of large-scale training programs so that the benefit reaches all government schools in Punjab.                       

​​How can you succeed in this role?

  • Design and Implement strategic plans to meet goals of educator professional development in Punjab
  • Collaborating with senior government officials and state partners to support the design and effective implementation of educator development programs for the state
  • Lead operational roll-out of the programme in the state, capacity building and management of team and stakeholders in the system.
  • Review the programme for quality and effectiveness through a comprehensive M&E strategy, including stakeholder surveys, case studies and field visits to assess the fidelity of implementation.
  • Ensure delivery against agreed milestones and targets, identify gaps in delivery, and take corrective measures to reduce implementation gaps.
  • Ensure timely preparation and compilation of the Project’s Annual/Quarterly Work Plans and Progress Review Reports.

Skills Required

Communication & Facilitation

  • External communication of learning and insights via various mediums Internal communication to build clarity, collaboration and alignment within the organisation
  • Evidence-backed communication to update progress to goals, learnings and challenges etc.
  • Facilitation for sessions, and learning spaces for the team and stakeholders

Data Analysis 

  • Ability to leverage data to design check-ins, conversations & program strategy.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel

Time & Project Management

  • Ability to balance their time between execution, design and coaching according to program priorities
  • Ability to make the most of what they have and use it towards the achievement of the goal and are able to handle ambiguity and navigate uncertainty with ease

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with stakeholders as equal partners in design, facilitation and reflection towards a culture of collective ownership.
  • Resolve conflict and create space for reconciliation and resolution with the team and stakeholders.
  • Build and instil a culture of authentic relationships, and celebration.

  • Ability to engage in feedback, deep listening and meaningful questioning to push the team towards learning & growth

Knowledge

  • Intermediate Excel skills, pedagogical practices
  • Knowledge of Teacher centric education, practices and development structures
  • Prior knowledge and experience in working with teachers
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising and co-operating with government officials, academic institutions and NGOs at a state level

Experience 

  • 5-7 years of experience in the education sector, specifically in teacher training, stakeholder management, operations
  • Previous experience (min 2 years) in managing and leading teams
  • Previous work experience with government agencies is preferred
  • Fluency in spoken and/ or written Punjabi is preferred
