Vihara is looking for the State Manager who will oversee all operations and Implementation under the project in the selected districts within the state of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha.The State Manager will be responsible for operational and functional support on interventions focused on the Value of Girl Child Project and to leverage the youth to raise awareness and change attitudes amongst different communities around gender ideologies by enhancing the value of the girl child in Odisha, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.
Location: Hybrid ( Extensive Travel to Ranchi, Jharkhand)

Educational Qualifications: Postgraduate Degree / Diploma in Social Work, Public Health / Social Sciences / Rural Development and other Development Studies.
Job Experience: Experience of working directly with the Women Child Development Department, Higher Education Department, Livelihoods Department, Health Department; Experience of having worked with gender campaigns, girl child related campaigns, women empowerment related campaigns. Experience of having worked with state departments, coordination and liasoning with the same, client facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Coordinate with state level officials for the smooth implementation of the Project
- Work closely with the Project Manager / Supervisor on setting program priorities and directions.
- Provide Capacity Building Activities at colleges and vocational institutes for both students and teachers using the gender transformation and sensitisation modules
- Ensure upward reporting to the technical team, implementation team and partnerships for the project campaign and module circulation
- Evaluation and review of Progress with stakeholders and steering committee
- Support in Arranging Bootcamp for Accelerating Social Action Plans.
Skills you will get to exercise and build on
Major Engagement:
- Facilitate and Organize State/Regional/District/Block level coordination meetings with Departments of (WCD, Health, Higher Education, Livelihood) also with CSO, Government Colleges, Aided Colleges,Pvt Colleges, Universities and its Association and other Partners working on gender issues.
- Facilitate in Rolling out of Blended Modules on gender sensitization across the intervention States/Districts.
- Develop immersive activities to create a personalized experiential understanding of gender discriminations and their impact on girls
- Capacity building sessions with teachers, youth volunteers, and participants that include soft skills and life skills
- Advocacy efforts to legitimize institutional course credits, certification and rewards upon successfully completion of the course
- Manage local partner organizations to ensure project activities are being conducted in line with quality standards and deliverables are achieved as per timelines.
- Coordination with Vihara technical team /Partners / vendors / Govt officials at State / District level for implementation of decided & agreed activities.
- Development of MLE Framework for the desired outcomes of the Project.
- Conduct bootcamps to handhold selected students to support and develop contextualized Social Action Plans

- Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government counterparts on Public Health, Nutrition, Livelihood, Education,Gender,WASH, ECEE, etc.
- Experience in coordinating training/teaching-related activities as part of a larger teaching/research organization in public health education.
- Experience of working with senior officials at state government/s,academic partners of national repute, collaborators and/or funders
- Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills.
- Able to write Technical and Programmatic documents
- Ability to design new interventions
