About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) aims at improving public health initiatives by supporting programs nationally and globally through providing comprehensive technical assistance in program planning, management and monitoring. Pursuant to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the GoUP and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, IHAT set up a Technical Support Unit (TSU) in 2013 to provide techno-managerial support to the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) to improve utilization, coverage and quality of key reproductive, maternal, new-born, child health and nutrition (RMNCHN) interventions and services in the state. The TSU has been set up from the funding support of Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation (BMGF) through the University of Manitoba (UOM), Canada.

About Program:

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) provides integrated Technical Assistance (TA) to the government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), which focuses on accelerating progress in reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health, and nutrition (RMNCHN). UPTSU works closely with the GoUP at the state, district and local levels to optimize RMNCHN programs and services. The technical assistance provided by UPTSU is integrated within the GoUP’s health system response for scale-up and sustainability. UPTSU focuses on interventions to improve outcomes in Family Planning, Maternal and New-born Health, and Nutrition, along with Routine Immunization, Digital Health, and other initiatives.

Job Summary :

State Specialist – Digital  Integration will be  responsible for coordinating with the corresponding program teams to ensure incorporation of program requirements in the digital workflows and systems.  S/he will be responsible for designing the user journeys with a digital and program lens and ensure its implementation in the 3 selected districts. They will also coordinate with corresponding partners and government officials.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Deliverables expected from the Job Role:

  • S/he will coordinate with PMU Community Outreach at the state level in developing project work plan in line with the goal and objectives of Digital Integration grant.
  • S/he will study the existing digital workflows and explore points of integration to develop end to end workflows that are user centric and gender intentional.
  • S/he will support in the development of workflows for the upcoming applications from the program lens.
  • S/he will test the workflows on the ground with relevant users for gathering feedback and making improvements.
  • S/he will design user journeys across various digital systems incorporating the program lens.
  • S/he will work closely with the stakeholders (government, partners) to ensure the capacity building for government functionaries and FLWs at intervention sites/districts.
  • S/he will work closely with NHM and other partners in developing a road map for implementation of the activities as per the nature of support committed to the SPMU at the state level.
  • S/he will coordinate with other thematic members including community, facility and child health to ensure adaptability of digital health systems across continuum of care.
  • S/he will develop high-quality process and learning documents based on the implementation and support in drafting high-quality project reports.

Work Experience:

Essential experience:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of progressively demonstrated experience of working in the large scale of public health programs (RMNCH+A, NCD) and operations at the district and state levels.

Preferred experience:

  • Knowledge of digital applications and technology platforms (ANMOL, eKavach, MANTRA, others) will be preferred

Education:

Required Qualification:

  • Master’s in public health/ social sciences/Rural Development or Rural Management/ any other
