**Job Description:**

 

UN Women is implementing a project focused on strengthening women’s leadership in economic, social, and political spheres across several Indian states, including Maharashtra.  The State Technical Coordinator – Gender Budgeting (GB) will support state partners and government departments to advance gender budgeting at the panchayat level in Maharashtra.  

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Strengthen coordination and GB efforts at the state level.

* Conduct research and documentation on planning, budgeting, and auditing processes at the panchayat level.

* Facilitate training and capacity development on GRB for officials and stakeholders.

* Implement project activities at the state level, including reporting and coordination with partners.

* Support the generation of public awareness on gender budgeting.

* Contribute to the establishment of a Community of Practice at the state level.

 

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* **Education:** Master’s Degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Social Work, Gender Studies, Public Administration, Policy, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be considered.

* **Experience:** At least 5 years of experience in development projects, with hands-on experience in design, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation, preferably on Gender Responsive Governance, Gender Equality, and Women’s Empowerment.  Experience working with national/state governments on gender issues, particularly with panchayats, is required.  Experience with GRB and budgetary/policy analysis is highly desirable.

* **Language Proficiency:** Fluency in English and Hindi is required.  A good command of Marathi is desired.
