Our flagship program utilizes an AI and NLP-powered WhatsApp chatbot, TAP Buddy, to deliver co-curricular electives in areas such as Visual and Performing Arts, Coding, STEM, and Financial Literacy. Currently impacting over 34,000 students across ten Indian states, TAP aims to reach 100,000 students in 2024-25 through expanded government partnerships. **Job Location:** Remote
**Experience Required:** Minimum 5 years of experience in user experience design across products and services.
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design and development of engaging and effective conversational flows for TAP Buddy, our WhatsApp chatbot designed to support student learning. This role requires collaboration with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create intuitive and user-friendly conversational experiences tailored to a young audience in India.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead the design and development of conversational flows for TAP Buddy.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and translate them into engaging conversational experiences.
* Identify and solve design problems using conversation design principles.
* Create user-friendly, engaging, and intuitive conversation flows in Hinglish.
* Develop and implement conversation design best practices, including intent mapping, entity recognition, error handling, and fallback strategies.
* Conduct user research, A/B testing, and analysis to optimize conversational designs.
* Ensure conversational elements align with TAP Buddy’s established tone of voice.
* Monitor and improve conversation design performance based on user engagement metrics.
* Document conversation designs for seamless integration with development.
* Mentor junior conversation designers and contribute to the development of internal design standards.
**Required Skills & Qualifications:**
* Minimum 5 years of experience in user experience design across products and services.
* Strong understanding of conversational AI, including NLP and intent-based dialogue systems.
* Knowledge of UX principles as they apply to conversation design.
* Ability to analyze conversational data to improve flows and user experiences.
* Proficiency in Hinglish and experience creating content that resonates with a young audience.
* Strong understanding of conversation design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
* Ability to design, moderate, and analyze User Research.
* Ability to create simple graphic design collaterals (posters, stickers, GIFs, videos).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
**Preferred Skills & Qualifications:**
* Familiarity with designing conversation flows for WhatsApp bots.
* Experience with conversation design tools (Voiceflow, Botmock, etc.).
* Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts.
* Experience with WhatsApp Business API or other messaging platforms.
* Experience in the education or non-profit sector.
* Previous experience mentoring or leading design teams.
* Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and user research for iterative design improvements.

**Compensation:** Rs. 500 per hour (Part-Time, 10-12 hours per week)
