**Job Title:** Team Leader

 

**Location:** Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (with travel to project locations)

 

**About Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) (AKRSP(I)):**

 

AKRSP(I) is a program of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), an international development agency operating in over 30 countries.  AKRSP(I) focuses on rural development initiatives across several Indian states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra.  Their work centers on agriculture and climate resilience, work and enterprise development, and rural governance.

 

**Job Description:**

 

The Team Leader will provide overall management of an economic development program aimed at increasing the income of farmers and youth through agriculture, entrepreneurship, and skills development initiatives.  Responsibilities include:

 

* Developing and implementing operational strategies to achieve project outcomes and ensure timely completion.

* Managing multiple stakeholders, including local communities, a global team, and implementation partners.

* Establishing effective communication and reporting systems to track project progress and outcomes.

* Developing and maintaining project data and a Management Information System (MIS) for reporting.

* Designing and implementing a monitoring and evaluation system to ensure program quality and impact.

* Preparing project proposals, periodic reports, and managing the project budget.

* Extensive travel to rural project areas is required.

 

 

**Experience Required:**

 

Minimum 8+ years of experience managing large-scale economic development programs with multiple stakeholders.

 

**Skills and Competencies:**

 

* Extensive knowledge and experience working with NGOs, donor agencies, or CSR entities on themes such as Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), rural livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and youth skills development.

* Strong project management skills, including team building, task prioritization, and budgeting.

* Proven ability to initiate new programs, develop processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and expand successful initiatives.

* Strong team and people management skills.

* Ability to manage numerous stakeholders and liaise with financial institutions, knowledge partners, and government agencies.

* Excellent MIS management, analytical, and presentation skills.

* Strong report writing and communication skills.

* Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation tools and systems.
