**Job Description:**

Jhpiego seeks a highly motivated and experienced Technical Advisor, Midwifery to provide technical leadership and support for midwifery programs in Uttar Pradesh, India.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively with government officials, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders to improve the quality of maternal and newborn health services.

**Responsibilities:**

* Provide technical guidance and support on midwifery education, training, and practice.

* Develop and implement training curricula and materials for midwives.

* Conduct mentorship and coaching of midwives to improve their clinical skills and knowledge.

* Support the integration of midwifery services into existing health systems.

* Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans.

* Collaborate with partners to strengthen midwifery advocacy and policy.

* Participate in relevant meetings and workshops.

* Prepare reports and presentations on program progress and achievements.

**Qualifications:**

* Master’s degree in Midwifery, Public Health, or a related field.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in midwifery, maternal and newborn health, or a related field.

* Proven experience in providing technical assistance and training to healthcare providers.

* Strong understanding of the Indian healthcare system and context.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

* Fluency in English and Hindi is required.

**Experience Required:**

Minimum 5 years of experience in midwifery, maternal and newborn health, or a related field, with a proven track record of providing technical assistance and training to healthcare providers.  Experience working in India is highly desirable.
