**About the India Content Team:** The India Content Team creates engaging videos, articles, and practice questions aligned with the Indian curriculum for both students and teachers.  We are actively localizing content into multiple regional languages.

**Job Location:** Remote (India). Some travel may be required (approximately 2-3 times per quarter).

**Experience Required:**

* Fluency in Telugu (speaking and writing), native Telugu speaker preferred.

* Deep understanding of Science concepts up to the class XII level.

* Proven ability to manage a team of 5-6 people.

* Keen eye for detail and experience conducting quality audits of localized content.

* Experience reviewing and editing educational content, ideally with a focus on science.

* Experience with video localization and/or creation is a plus.

* Proficiency in English to understand and adapt source material.

* Familiarity with Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and video editing software is beneficial.

* Experience working in a Telugu medium school (teaching or studying) is a plus.

* Experience in online teaching is a plus.

**Responsibilities:**

* Review, edit, and create new Telugu Science content (videos and text) for Khan Academy, adhering to quality metrics (contextualization, cohesion, rigor, clarity, pedagogical approach).

* Gather feedback from state teachers and incorporate it into content improvements.

* Manage a team of 5-6 localization experts.

* Analyze Telugu Science textbooks to identify necessary modifications before localization.

* Translate and adapt English source material into Telugu, ensuring accurate meaning and style.

* Utilize dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books for accurate terminology.

* Research appropriate phraseology for accurate translation.

* Proofread and edit final translations based on quality parameters (meaning, readability, compliance, terminology, consistency, and linguistics).

* Maintain and expand knowledge in specialized translation areas.

* Adapt Khan Academy’s Style Guide for Telugu.

* Develop and maintain a glossary of specialized terminology for Khan Academy’s localization process.

**Job Type:** Full-time, 12-month contract.
