About the project:

Training Coordinator- Midwifery Central Coordination Unit shall be engaged to provide technical support to Government of India for the implementation of midwifery care programme through a Central Coordination Unit (CCU)

Job Description

Key Job Responsibilities:

·         To assist the Maternal Health division in providing technical support in Midwifery Initiative

·         Develop technical guidelines  and protocols  for the rollout of Midwifery Initiative across country

·         Coordinate training and training related activities—preparatory and follow-up—for all National Midwifery Training Institutes (NMTIs)

·         Provides technical support to States/UTs  to escalate the Midwifery trainings in a cascade manner

·         Provides support to State/UTs in establishing the State Midwifery Training Institutes (SMTIs) in respective districts

·         Provide technical assistance and programmatic support to the Maternal Health division , MoHFW and States/UTs for strengthening and implementation of SUMAN , LaQshya, PMSMA initiative and quality assurance/improvement in Maternal Health services.

·         To assist Maternal Health Division in monitoring and implementation of all Maternal Health interventions under the National Health Mission (NHM) with respect to key maternal health program

·         Work in close coordination with the Midwifery experts from development partners / NGOs/State for overall quality assurance of the ME trainings across States/UTs.

·         Assist in appraisal reports of state PIPs, prepare quarterly/monthly reports, monitoring of progress of MH interventions and Midwifery Initiative

·         Conduct periodic field visits to states to monitor the progress of NMTI/SMTI functionality and Midwifery Educator (ME) and Nurse practitioner Midwifery (NPM) trainings and also support in implementation of other MH interventions.

·         Submit periodic reports on above and suggest actions required at State level to fill the gaps within the approved Program Implementation Plans

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the MH framework

·         Any other work assigned by Competent Authority

Qualifications & Experience

MBBS /BDS/BAMS/BHMS/ with Public health postgraduate qualification with 7+ years of working experience in public health, out of which 3-4 years relevant experience in the management of RCH related programmes.

·         Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word, Excel, Power Point & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents.

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills, analytical and interpersonal abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

·         Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

·         Demonstrated experience in operationalizing health program at field level/ working in strengthening of district level health systems.

·         Willingness to travel to states & districts to provide technical assistance & ability to work on different assignments simultaneously to meet the timelines for assignments. 

·         Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in NHM / RCH at National or State level

·         Formal educational qualification and experience could be relaxed when there is published work of high quality or whenever there is work experience of specific relevance

·         Keep a track record of all relevant data and share quarterly evaluation report to WHO and MoHFW.

Age limit– Upper limit 45 years as on last date for receiving the application and having sound health to undertake extensive field visits

Travel: Average 1 domestic trip every month

Insurance coverage: Accidental INR 5 Lakhs and Health INR 2 Lakhs
