About the role

The position will facilitate and lead the training for Bihar. They will ensure the content is adopted to suit the local context. They will hold the Training calendar,  budget for the  training program. They will ensure all the deliverables are met in a timely manner with. They will work closely with the impact team to contextualize  the monitoring and evaluation framework to track the progress and impact of the training. They will use blended design in their approach. They will also develop the feedback tools to check the pulse of the educators/ leaders and will collate feedback and share with the content team. They will work very closely with the central school team on learning experience, impact  team and the program implementation team. They will represent the organization with the government and other stakeholders at the state/ district/ national level. 

Capacity building  and strategy

  • Build a big picture capacity building strategy for different stakeholders of the program. Bring in experiences from the ecosystem around innovative approaches to capacity building. This can include a mix of experiential workshops, virtual engagement, curating a resource library etc.
  • Holding the training calendar for Bihar
  • Build the capacity of  the program officers for effective delivery of the training program and make them understand the content/ curriculum and effective use of technology
  • Contribute to the review process, annual work plan, annual budget, program design and new project proposal from a capacity building perspective.
  • Lead the training of all the stakeholders through Virtual and physical medium
  • Customize the training program as per context and training requirements.
  • Participate in state level training programs, workshops, meetings and work with the state body to ensure that it’s integrated into a larger plan.
  • Work with the  master trainer group at district level and hand hold them for knowledge transfer.
  • Facilitate workshop at district and state level for Government and Civil Society Engagement .
  • Lead the capacity building of CSO partners aligned to the QUEST vision for School program.
  • Contribute in the development and review of content for virtual engagement and IVRS messages
  • Be comfortable with technology for learning and be the focal point for all technology related interventions, enquiry, clarification with the central and field team
  • Define the approach to capacity building for the Bihar schools program
  • Rooting the design in the QA philosophy and self learning and program objectives

Execution of capacity building design

  • Developing the capacity calendar in consultation with the state teams. Having a 6 monthly plan in advance and communicating it to all relevant stakeholders
  • Executing the capacity building calendar which includes:
  • – Workshop design and curating learning material, preparing participant kits
  • – Training the master trainers to deliver the workshops and provide support where needed
  •  – Designing virtual engagements to ensure continuity in the capacity building experience – webinars, whatsapp engagement.
  •  – School observation visits to give on-site support and feedback to facilitators
  • Delivering on the master trainer strategy for the key states – 

Program Strategy and Design

  • Contribute to the overall program design and strategy based on the feedback from participants during the capacity building activities
  • Bring field insights into the capacity building design and review 

Supporting School Implementation 

  • Provide technical input to internal team on instructional design, session plan delivery
  • Design the agenda and flow for school based events – career days, hackathons parent teacher meets, teacher orientations 

Relationship Building and Management

  • Support the government engagement and relationship building process by integrating Bihar School team strategy into the education systems
  • Develop, maintain and manage different stakeholders relationship at Institution,  state, and national level with Nonprofits, academic institutions and with thought leaders
  • Develop and ensure ongoing management of partnerships with subject matter experts or think tanks and third parties
  • Be part of Sector facing Working Group and other relevant networks 

Reporting

  • Document different stakeholder engagement and capacity building workshop report
  • Capture and document insights from the field and  incorporate them in the training plan and design.
  • Compile the insights from the field and also check what is working and what is not working in the model. Look at training feedback data to incorporate into the next plan.
  • Support impact team in fine-tuning the monitoring tool based and capturing relevant data for training feedback process.
  • Ensure Documentation of the capacity building experience – workshop reports, participant feedback
  • Capture, document and prepare feedback reports from the training program.
  • Work together with M&E or data  focal point to track training  Progress based on the Monitoring and Evaluation framework.
  • Ensure all the relevant data for related to capacity building is available on time
  • Submit all the relevant monitoring reports on time. Ensure all the relevant data for the project is available well in time

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience, in implementing blended learning content for school related projects
  • Prior experience in training development and implementation
  • Willingness to learn and influence prevalent practices in education ecosystem
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Ability to train, build capacity of, and manage relationships with partner NGOs
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English (preferred)
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams
