Job title: Vocational Trainer (Spl. Edu.)

Location: Mumbai.

Team: Skills Training & Employment

Reports to: Programme Lead – Skills Training & Employment

Key relationships:

Internal: MTCDs, Program Leads

External: Parents, Partner Clients, Teachers & Trainers.

Role purpose:

To train students as per the guidelines of the Skills Training & Employment programme at Sol’s ARC.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct and adhere to training the program as per Sol’s ARC’s guidelines
  • Conducting practical sessions and field trips as per Sol’s ARC program guidelines
  • Completing the entire syllabus as prescribed by Sol’s ARC
  • Ensure outreach for student admissions through various platforms
  • Reach out to enquiries for admission and completing the process end to end
  • Track student progress though all the modules (life skills, professional skills, job skills) to improve proficiency
  • Conducting Parent-Teacher meetings monthly and quarterly and working with them towards preparing students for open employment
  • Preparing Students for internship and facilitating the documentation process
  • Monitoring, evaluating and tracking students at internship
  • Providing job coach support to students placed along with reporting and recording
  • Facilitating examination registration and certification

Person specification

Qualification: Sp. Ed / M. Ed/ MA
Prior Experience: 

  • 2 to 4 years
  • Must have the experience of teaching in primary & middle school

Essential skills:

  • Strong writing skills
  • In depth knowledge in Ms. Office and strong online research skills
  • Knowledge in special needs sector
  • Strong oral and written communication in English
  • Observation and Monitoring skills
