Position Objective:

To implement PETA India’s outreach programme for teenagers and young adults and to mentor the youth outreach assistant

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain a calendar of youth outreach events across India and organise and attend tabling events, speaking events (online and offline), and other opportunities at youth events, including college festivals, vegan festivals, music concerts, exhibitions, marathons, and other venues across the country where young people gather
  • Recruit and maintain a database of youth volunteers at colleges and universities around the country and guide and engage with them for outreach
  • Attend various brainstorming meetings and share ideas for missions, blog posts, and other innovative ways to keep young people engaged with animal rights issues online and offline
  • Research celebrity-related news and trends, including information about top music artists, andshare ideas on engaging them for youth outreach
  • Identify youth-focused brands and develop ideas to engage them for youth outreach
  • Continuously develop activist opportunities for young people
  • Communicate with and give interviews to the media about PETA India’s youth outreach work, upon request
  • Guide and act as a mentor to the youth outreach assistant
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English and Hindi
  • Knowledge of other local Indian languages a plus
  • Degree in a related field and/or proven youth marketing experience
  • Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Public speaking experience
  • Knowledge of and interest in youth culture, celebrities, and social media required
  • Understanding of modern marketing concepts and strategies
  • Proven excellent relationship-building skills and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to focus on both team and individual goals
  • Proven exceptional analytical, organisational, and time-management skills
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative, energetic, social, confident, assertive, persistent, persuasive, and results-oriented personality
  • Proven strong strategic-thinking skills and long-term vision
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
