Assistant – Human Resources – J-PAL South Asia

This is an HR generalist role. The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with the HR Managers, Head HR and other team members and support them in all recruitment, T&D and operational matters and be instrumental in providing a solid foundational support for any new initiatives taken by the HR team. These candidates will be an enthusiastic, resourceful and smart personality who will be available to deliver above and beyond the call of duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in recruitment activities as per the need – including but not limited to lateral hiring, internal job postings, external sourcing, campus hiring, Internship programs, selection processes (such as administering technical tests, scheduling Interviews), internal MIS and more.
- Ensuring background and reference checks are completed and records are maintained
- Assisting in the Employee Orientation and Induction activities, across the board by executing and collaborating with multiple speakers and leading it as per the need.
- Assisting in all Employee Engagement activities from planning to execution as well as seeking feedback.
- Keeping track on data around exit and alumni list and support any other activities related to the same
- Assist in HR Initiatives towards people growth well being and culture such as L&D, Mental Health, DEI .
- Participates and support employee relationship and satisfaction surveys
- Support development of new HR initiatives or areas
- Participates in cross-departmental initiatives or capacity building aspects of the organization
- Other duties as assigned or required
Structure and Reporting:
- An integral part of the People Function at J-PAL, SA, the HR assistant will report to the Manager HR and will be expected to work in close cooperation with other members of the HR team as well as other functions.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Design, Educational or Organizational Psychology, Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in HR, or similar relevant degree.
Required professional experience:
- Must have 1+ years of relevant HR experience, in an organization of repute.
- Demonstrable experience of minimum 1 years of handling all facets of the Employee Life Cycle.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and Google office.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with detailed information and numerical data and presenting it in a way that is easily understood by people at different levels in the organization.
- Basic data analysis and presentation skills
