Key Responsibilities::
- Monitor agriculture research and implementation projects
- Design and perform crop modeling exercises as per the need
- Collect, manage and summarize data across scales from on-farm field trials/observations
- Ability to design studies, collect and analyze data on research and implementation projects in undertaking
- Visit project implementation areas
- Ability to synthesis and publish research results in peer reviewed journals, working papers, policy briefs, and info notes, including translating these into non-scientific language for a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience of working with farmers, farmer groups and extension services would be an advantage
- Prepare presentations and reports, produce written outputs of the implementation work and research outcomes
- Carry out any additional activities requested by project/team Leaders
Apply if you have:
- An M.Tech/M.Sc./a Ph.D. with Agricultural related specialization (Preferably Entomology, Agronomy, Soil Science)
- 0 – 5 years (after Ph.D.), 5 – 10 years (after Masters)
- Ability to use various crop models to assess performance of management practices, climate variations on crop yield
- Well versed with applications of GIS and Remote Sensing tools in agricultural/environmental research
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods of research, including required statistical modeling/analysis
- Knowledge of carbon sequestration and emission assessment is preferable.
- Good English communication skills is a must
- Knowledge of local language (Marathi/Telugu/Oriya & Hindi)
- Track record of publishing peer-reviewed research papers/articles
- Training and/or experience in some social dimensions. Evidence of interdisciplinary, applied systems analysis desirable
