Himachal Pradesh – Rural Waste Management

This project is a large awareness & engagement pilot initiative, focusing on solid waste collection, transportation & processing in two rural areas of Himachal Pradesh, Bir and Dharamshala.

Our teams here are positively changing how local villagers & businesses, tourists & vendors, ashrams & schools, & government authorities deal with waste in and around the Bir Billing & Dharamshala rural landscape. The project is funded by multiple CSR initiatives for Rural Development in partnership with Waste Warriors Society. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and delegate all scheduled tasks at the project level.
• Ensure plastic waste collection by providing data on the quantity of plastic, segregation, and processing efficiency.
• Responsible for Plastic Waste Collection and Processing, Business Development, Monthly Plastic Tonnage Increase, Data Management & Reporting,
• Develop new channels for collections, processing, the addition of new scrap dealers, coordination, and data management.
• Evaluate efficiency, quality, effectiveness, and results of operations & focus on constant improvement or Kaizen. 
• Record and report all project-related income and expenditures & be responsible for P&L of the plant.
• Supervise and train Green Workers and Supervisors, mediate between them, and respond to complaints.
• Liaise with similar organizations and government bodies to tackle waste management issues.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Skills & Expertise 

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Management, Business Administration, or Engineering 
• 3+ years experience in supervising operations, strategizing process improvements, and managing field workers in a Material Recovery Facility (MRF)
• Understand the rates and quality of different types of waste materials available in the market. 
• Be passionate about the environment and a cleaner Himalayas.
• Willingness to work extensively on the field in difficult weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of solid waste management, extended producer responsibility, and eagerness to learn more.
• Regional knowledge & work experience in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh preferred.

Pay Range

Base Salary

INR 420000 – INR 500000/yr
