Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (LFE)

## Project Coordinator – District Implementation

**Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (LFE)**

**About LFE**

Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (branded as Leadership For Equity, LFE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of public education systems in India. We achieve this by building the capacity of government system leaders and influencing system processes. We partner with local and state education bodies to co-create programs that enhance teaching-learning practices, improve student learning and well-being, and influence policies to create effective government education systems.

**Our Belief:** We believe that public education systems are the gatekeepers of social equity, particularly for the 120 million poorest children in India who attend government-run schools. We address the systemic problem of educational inequity through a systems change approach, fostering partnerships with governments, philanthropists, corporations, donors, nonprofits, and grassroots organizations to bring about scalable and sustainable social change.

**Our Vision:** We envision public education systems that refuse to let children down.

**Our Approach:** We strengthen middle management by building system leaders. This includes empowering Academic & Administrative Officers (Extension Officers, BEOs, DIETs, SCERT) to lead quality improvement programs and run their departments effectively. We also equip Teacher Mentors (URCs, CRG, BRG, CRCs) to improve classroom practices, particularly in foundational learning and technology.

Over the last 5 years, we have built the capacity of over 2000 system leaders and 40,200 teachers, impacting 8.2 million students. We have co-created and implemented 7 different programs and have multi-year MoUs with 9 government bodies, including District Zilla Parishads, DIETs, SCERTs, SSA, and the Department of School Education & Sports in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Tripura, with current expansion to Andhra Pradesh.
