**About the Role**

 

This is a 12-month contract-based role within the Khan Academy India team. We are seeking an experienced M&E professional to execute and guide both in-house and third-party M&E projects.  The role will primarily involve developing logical frameworks, leading indicators, and monitoring strategies, coordinating field activities with internal and external stakeholders. You will directly work with the Efficacy team at KAI and report to the head of the department.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting projects, including a randomized control trial in government schools to analyze the impact of the Khan Academy program and the launch of the Khanmigo (Generative AI tool) pilot in government and private schools in India.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures

* Monitor and evaluate project activities and progress towards achieving desired outputs/results

* Conduct capacity assessments on existing monitoring and evaluation systems

* Develop indicators, logical frameworks, and a monitoring strategy for the project

* Develop monitoring and impact indicators for project success

* Provide inputs, information, and statistics for periodic reports to the Project Management Team

* Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving project efficiency and effectiveness by identifying bottlenecks

* Coordinate with external researchers and agencies for M&E projects as needed

 

**Key Activities:**

 

* **Designing M&E Frameworks:** Craft comprehensive plans outlining how monitoring and evaluation will be conducted, including setting objectives, selecting indicators, and determining methodologies for data collection and analysis.

* **Data Management:** Collect, store, and manage data efficiently to ensure accuracy, reliability, and accessibility for analysis.

* **Analysis and Reporting:** Analyze data to extract actionable insights and compile findings into reports that inform stakeholders about the program’s progress, outcomes, and impact.

* **Feedback and Recommendations:** Provide evidence-based recommendations to program managers and stakeholders to refine strategies, enhance performance, and guide future decision-making.

* **Capacity Building:** Strengthen the M&E skills of team members and stakeholders through training and support, ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of M&E practices.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Relevant experience in the Monitoring & Evaluation field is preferred.

* **Experience in the social sector is a must.**

* Ability to use first principle thinking and analytical intuition

* A passion for education and a desire to make an impact

* Experience of successfully executing and driving qualitative and quantitative research with a focus on theory of change, logical frameworks preferred

* Educational background or work experience related to the Social Sector. Background in Education/EdTech sector is preferred.

* Comfort and experience with wrangling/cleaning complex data and driving in-depth undefined exploratory analyses.

* Basic experience in R/Python and SQL

* Ability to present research findings using concise tables/charts and related visualization skills.

* Good communication and coordination skills
