Role Overview
The key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but are not limited to setting up a mature research function and develop team processes and skills to facilitate best in industry methodology and bring in efficiency and effectiveness in the way things are planned and delivered. Collaborate with multiple stake holders both internally and externally to proactively design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, build and implement effective strategy, maintain partnerships.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Build and create methodology to design and manage the research project, which may involve the use of quantitative and/or qualitative methods and may include both pilot and development work
- Manage research projects, using evidences from research into strategy building for Samhita, developing and maintaining partnerships, monitoring CSR activities and working as part of group think tank
- Apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews
- Skilled in Policy Analysis, Program Evaluation, Strategic Planning, and Research
- Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
- Scope out and approach potential clients (companies and foundations) for research related business opportunities
- Build strong evidence base, systematically measuring impact and analysing this data to further the fund raising efforts, create a base for organizations strategy building and produce advocacy materials
- Support other senior leaders during the strategy building stage by providing relevant data points and research notes that would help them to build on detailed value added proposals.
- Guide and build on the knowledge and insights piece for the group by creating and implementing various ways by which knowledge sharing can happen, device frameworks where the learning can be ongoing and effective.
Skills required:
- 8-10 years’ experience in research and monitoring impact using statistical packages such as SPSS, advanced Excel, strong publication record.
- Detail oriented, with strong analytical, prioritization, problem solving and negotiating skills
- The ability to lead and influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferred.
- Stellar planner with the ability to prioritize amidst various / sometimes conflicting priorities.
- You could comfortably scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects and have the ability to break down process steps
- Bachelor’s/Masters in Policy, Research or related field
- Tolerance for ambiguity, which always translates to a get it done rather than wait to be done approach.
- Track record of managing and mentoring teams, working with cross functional teams will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication skills and stake holder-facing skills including good presentation and facilitation skills are a must.
