* Minimum of 5 years of experience in rice breeding research.

**Job Description:**

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our Plant Breeding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 

* Leading and conducting research in rice breeding, including the development of new rice varieties with improved traits such as yield, disease resistance, and nutrient efficiency.

* Developing and implementing innovative breeding strategies and technologies.

* Collaborating with other researchers and stakeholders to ensure the successful dissemination of new rice varieties.

* Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at international conferences.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Lead and manage research projects related to rice breeding.

* Design and execute breeding experiments, including field trials and data analysis.

* Develop and evaluate new rice varieties for key agronomic traits.

* Conduct molecular marker-assisted selection and genomic selection.

* Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to ensure the successful transfer of new varieties to farmers.

* Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.

* Supervise and mentor junior scientists and students.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or a related field.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in rice breeding research.

* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement breeding programs.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Experience in molecular marker-assisted selection and genomic selection is preferred.

* Experience in developing and using breeding technologies such as drones and sensors is a plus.

* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
