## Team Leader, Urban Health Initiative (TL-UHI)
**India Health Action Trust (IHAT)** is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized people by addressing health and social inequities. Since 2003, IHAT has been working closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve public health goals, focusing on areas like HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, and Health Systems Strengthening.
**We are seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader for our Urban Health Initiative (UHI) based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.** This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative urban health programs in three cities, working closely with the government and other partners.
**Responsibilities:**
* Lead the development and implementation of the urban health initiative, focusing on conceptualization, ideation, and execution of programs.
* Collaborate with the government’s Project Management Unit (PMU) for the urban program of the National Health Mission.
* Coordinate with technical partners and stakeholders in the design, implementation, and evaluation of urban health innovations.
* Identify existing urban health models and support the development of a robust model, identifying best practices and innovations for documentation and replication.
* Plan and provide technical/operational support for the urban health program, ensuring effective implementation.
* Facilitate program reviews and provide feedback on a periodic basis.
* Support data analysis, design indicators, and establish systems for tracking progress and deliverables.
* Monitor the program and hold review meetings to address systemic and technical barriers to improve urban healthcare delivery.
* Explore and integrate digital health innovations to enhance the urban health model and improve service delivery.
* Ensure that urban health programs integrate gender-sensitive approaches and address the needs of vulnerable populations.
* Facilitate project activities, including training, on-site coaching, workshop planning, and logistics management.
* Develop and produce relevant project documents, such as situation analysis reports, assessment reports, success stories, and procurement plans.
* Identify funding opportunities and develop proposals to secure additional resources for expanding and sustaining urban health programs.
* Undertake supportive supervision and concurrent monitoring initiatives, including field monitoring.
* Support research and documentation related to Urban Health, coordinating with Implementation Research for Health Systems Strengthening.
* Perform other activities as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, public health, or a related field.
* **Minimum 12 years of experience in public health, with at least 3 years in urban health.**
* Strong understanding of urban health systems and knowledge of urban health issues.
* Proven experience working with government at various levels.
* Excellent reporting and analysis abilities, communication skills, and negotiation skills in a multicultural environment.
* Familiarity with monitoring large programs and key monitoring indicators.
* Understanding of the National and State public health systems and functions.
* Knowledge of public health issues in India and the role of various stakeholders.
* Strong teamwork abilities and experience working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to work independently on complex projects and proactively manage projects with minimal supervision.
* Excellent interpersonal abilities and effective communication skills in both English and Hindi.
* Proficiency in written and oral communication, including presentation skills and the ability to write analytical reports.
* Proficiency in commonly used software packages such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Skilled in conducting desk research, literature reviews, and accessing relevant documents through internet research.
* **Desired skill:** Familiarity or ability to communicate in any other Indian language.
**Travel Requirements:** 70%
