### **Education & Experience**
– **Education:** Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Social Work, Gender Studies, Public Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
– **Experience:** At least 5 years of professional experience at the national or state level in development projects, particularly those focused on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring projects related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is highly desirable. Familiarity with working on GBV issues within government structures is a plus.
### **Languages**
– Proficiency in English is required; good command of Hindi is desirable.

### **Job Description**
The State Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting UN Women’s efforts to end violence against women in Bihar. This position requires close collaboration with state government departments, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to implement projects aimed at preventing and responding to gender-based violence. The role involves providing technical assistance, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the effective delivery of project activities aligned with UN Women’s strategic goals.

### **Key Responsibilities**
1. **Strengthening Coordination and GBV Efforts:**
– Establish and enhance coordination mechanisms among state departments (e.g., Women and Child Development, Social Justice, Police, Health) to institutionalize gender-based violence initiatives.
– Provide technical support to government departments to review and monitor GBV-related mechanisms and processes.
2. **Research and Documentation:**
– Conduct situational analyses and mappings of GBV stakeholders at the state level.
– Support the development of State Action Plans on GBV, ensuring they are evidence-based and actionable.
3. **Training and Capacity Building:**
– Develop training materials and conduct capacity-building programs for government officials and civil society actors on GBV issues.
– Monitor the impact of trainings through assessments and reporting.
4. **Project Implementation:**
– Ensure timely delivery of project activities, including monitoring progress and preparing reports.
– Coordinate with implementing partners to achieve project objectives and align with state government priorities.
5. **Advocacy and Awareness:**
– Facilitate the creation of knowledge products (e.g., case studies, policy briefs) and organize campaigns to raise public awareness on GBV issues in vernacular languages.
6. **Monitoring and Reporting:**
