Reports to: Manager – Community Impact, Jal Sanjivani
Job Overview: Jal Sanjivani is a special community impact initiative of United Way Mumbai aimed at improving the state of drought resilience among the agrarian communities in drought-prone areas of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh through the Integrated Watershed Management Program (IWMP) strategies. The role oversees the grant management of project Jal Sanjivani including; liaising with the donor, implementation partners, technical consultants and the other local community stakeholders as well as relevant government officials, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordination with different team leaders and keep the track of project progress, fund utilization and project impact. (for project coordinator only)
- Develop/ possess detailed knowledge on the project causes and be able to guide the project team
- Overall grant management of the project, including budgeting and basic account maintenance
- Liaise, communicate, interact effectively and manage partnerships with the internal and external stakeholders of the project
- Maintaining MIS of the fund utilization, coordinate with the project manager for timely payment and submission of the fund utilization report to the senior management
- Maintaining documents related to the project, separately for each activity to ensure timely and effective completion of the activity.
- Monitoring during construction of engineering structures, interventions of productivity enhancement, arrange capacity building programs, formation & meetings of SHG, FPO, WUG, WUA, VDC.
- Develop project monitoring tools and trackers and deploy the same to monitor the projects one a regular basis.
Profile Requisites:
- Masters in Social Work or equivalent degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in managing and executing projects in the field of watershed management
- A dynamic and a versatile person who can easily connect and effectively work with internal and external stakeholders of the project
- Good knowledge on the various components of watershed management and related interventions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be proficient in communicating in English and Hindi (fluency in Marathi will be an added advantage)
- Must be a team player and should be willing to travel extensively to the project sites
- Multitasking
- Ability to accomplish time-constrained assignments
- The work will require extensive field travel across India. The person must be willing to travel.
- Willingness to work on weekends if required
Remuneration: Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit; the salary range is INR 3.6 – 5.4 LPA
