Job Description
The Ignite program works with over 4,000 children in 237 shelter homes, 7 Schools, and 16 urban slum communities across 9 cities in the country. The consultant will be responsible to finetune the existing FLN curriculum, codifying pedagogical practices to strengthen the understanding of the existing curriculum. The goal is to accelerate the learning outcomes of the children we work with.
Roles & Responsibilities/ Expected outcomes:
- Conduct a thorough needs analysis to vet the current curriculum and benchmark against national standards through secondary research
- Create an FLN curriculum aligned to national standards covering all aspects of literacy and numeracy
- Formalize pedagogical practices in the curriculum to minimize trickle-down effect during implementation
- Create a training strategy for both volunteers & fellows
- Create an impact assessment strategy to be implemented at scale for Ignite (Shelters)
- Specifically, for the Ignite (Shelters) programme – Identify core curricular focus areas given the boundary conditions of a volunteer driven model
Other Responsibilities
- Create collaterals such as worksheets/ formative assessments
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Background in teaching, teacher training, and curriculum creation
- 3-5 years’ experience of creating curriculum in literacy and numeracy for a similar use case
- Strong understanding of curricular frameworks and pedagogical practices
- Experience working with non-profits or with a community / volunteer-based organization
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lead and drive projects independently
- Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines

Scope: Full time/Contractual
Duration: 6 Months
Remuneration: CTC 6-7 Lakhs p.a. based on the candidate’s profile
