Funding Opportunity: Enhancing Nutrition Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning in the Health Sector (NuMERAL) by USAID

USAID intends to make an award to the applicant who best meets the objectives of this funding
opportunity based on the merit review criteria described in this NOFO subject to a risk
assessment. Eligible parties interested in submitting an application are encouraged to read this

requirements, and selection process.

Objective
To support and promote the collaborative generation and use of evidence in human nutrition and
local capacity strengthening for nutrition monitoring, evaluation, research, research utilization,
and learning in the health sector.

Focus Areas

  1. Mainstream nutrition in reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health
    (RMNCAH) policies and services
  2. Link components of nurturing care with a focus on integrating responsive caregiving and
    opportunities for early learning into nutrition policies and programs
  3. Improve assessment of micronutrient deficiencies and anemia to inform targeted
    interventions to prevent and overcome these conditions
    Strategic Approaches
  4. Support local research partners’ leadership and strategic partnerships in evidence
    generation, dissemination, translation, and use
  5. Strengthen and build the evidence base for implementation of effective, feasible,
    equitable, and cost-efficient nutrition services in the health sector
  6. Translate evidence for learning, cross-country sharing, and utilization by national and subnational stakeholders of nutrition policies and programs
  7. Optimize monitoring, evaluation, and information systems in nutrition
