Position Summary
ILSS is looking to hire a Director or Associate Director to support in Monitoring & Evaluation functions. Responsibilities
The responsibilities of Associate Director include but are not limited to the following**:**
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Monitoring – Lead in the design and implementation of a monitoring framework to track delivery against ILSS’s goals and objectives.
- Evaluation – Lead in the analysis of data collected under the monitoring framework for assessment of progress and areas for improvement. In addition, facilitate periodic evaluation of impact levels.
- Reporting – Provide regularly updated reports on status of implementation, goals, and objectives.
Detailed responsibilities:
- Develop and strengthen monitoring and evaluation procedures by developing monitoring and impact indicators for the Programs’ success.
- Design the framework to capture the impact of all our Programs.
- Undertake the impact studies for ILSS Programs – ILSS Leadership Program, ILSS Fundraising Program, ILSS Board Program, and ILSS People Practices Program. This could potentially include –
- Impact survey on our customer organisations
- Rating the quality of our talent
- Impact of the leader in the organisation
- Employee turnover (People Practices Program)
- People satisfaction (People Practices Program)
- Funds raised (Fundraising Program)
- New donor acquisition (Fundraising Program)
- Monitor all Program activities and progress towards achieving the Program outputs.
- Recommend further improvement of the organisation’s logical framework
- Provide inputs, information, and statistics for knowledge material.
- Provide relevant evidence for learning from projects.
Knowledge Building/Research/Analysis:Facilitate research and knowledge building at an organisational level.
Build detailed research on the following:
- The top 300-500 nonprofits in the country (by annual expenditure, staff strength, board strength, leadership team, geography, domain)
- The top 100 CSRs (with details of the board, team, spend)
- Top Foundations (international and family foundations)
- Analysis of sector demand, funding sources, institutional assessment trends
- Making a case for the demand in the social sector (building case studies, insights, knowledge bank content to raise the profile of ILSS).
Required Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge on M&E and development issues.
- Excellent knowledge of monitoring and the application of methodology: understanding of capacity assessment methodologies; ability to identify significant capacity building opportunities.
- Strong experience in conducting research studies including the entire evaluation cycle, from design and formulation to implementation, analysis and presentation of results and recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in data processing and management of large scale surveys.
- Expertise in analysing data using statistical software (e.g. SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, SMART, STAT 01) and computer skills (word-processing, spreadsheets, and databases).
- Possession of strong organizational, reporting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral): sensitivity to and responsiveness to all partners, respectful and helpful relations with all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in relevant academic fields such as social science, development, or related fields.
- Ideally 12+ years of direct experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development projects.
- Professional training or extensive experience in conducting research studies.
Compensation
Depending on the candidate’s experience, ILSS offers compensation that is at par with Indian philanthropy pay scales.
