The Family Resource Center is a space ‘by families and for families’ – where families of children with disabilities come together to guide and support each other and create spaces for fun & leisure.

The “Assistant Manager, Family Resource Center” position will be a part of the core Family Resource Center team and will assist in running all existing programs of the FRC and in executing new projects and plans.

The responsibilities will include:

·   Facilitate activities of the FRC

·   Assist in delivery of trainings and workshops conducted by the FRC.

·  Involve greater number of self-advocates and families in activities of the Family Resource Center.

·   Foster and leverage relationships with other organizations working in this space

·  Be available to hear out families and offer guidance and support.

·  Implement ways for incorporating feedback of children and families in the Family Resource Center services

·   Work closely with other teams at Ummeed for seamless operations of the Family Resource Center

Candidate Profile

Ummeed would want this role to be held by a parent/ caregiver of a child with disability, ideally with 3 – 6 years of work experience in any field. The person should be passionate about working in the social sector and willing to learn.

Some key competencies for the role include:

•       Good planning and executing skills

•       Excellent interpersonal skills, including cooperation, collaboration, negotiation, and ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders

•       Great oral and written communication skills, including communicating in Hindi/ Marathi/ both

•       Willingness to learn about the sector and nuances of Ummeed’s philosophy and values
