i-Saksham works to build local young women as ‘Leaders of Change’ in disadvantaged geographies like Bihar. The objective is to build a grassroots movement of change agents to shift a typical trajectory of young women away from dropping out of higher education, early marriage, and limited public life. Our women leaders undergo a 2-year leadership development program followed by continuous network building to:
a. Gain self-belief that their identity matters and grow as role models
b. Collaborate with govt. school of their village to enhance educational inclusion of underserved children
c. Collectivize into a peer-driven community of change agents to promote women’s leadership at various levels of socio-economic life
The mission of i-Saksham is to build a state-wide network of 10,000 edu-leaders and impact at least a million girls by 2030.
Position Summary: Assistant Manager-Program
We are looking for people with a deep sense of commitment to work for women’s empowerment in isolated/backward regions. The experience would be extremely challenging but deeply satisfying. The Asst. Manager-Program coordinates and leads programmatic activity at the district level. As a Coach, s/he builds the capacities of edu-leaders to transform the learning experiences of children and enhance
ownership of the community. S/he nurtures partnerships with the government and non-government stakeholders and guides the collective of young women leaders on their path to drive sustainable change at scale.
Your major responsibilities include:
i. To be a ‘mentor’ and coach the team on various programmatic elements including training, pedagogy skills, classroom observations, and leadership development.
ii. Design an operational and learning plan for your region and coach the team to deliver as per agreed goals within the specified timelines.
iii. Lead community engagement initiatives that bring community ownership in the learning journey of their children, and lead alumni engagement initiatives
iv. Manage Monitoring & Evaluation of the program, ensure timely data collection, and undertake data analysis to inform long-term and short-term decision making
v. Work closely with the senior management team on program designs and organization strategy.
vii. Manage partnerships, and liaise with related internal and external stakeholders
vii. Working closely with local administration and improving learning outcomes through capacity building of teachers and tola sevaks
viii. Responsible for maintaining and enriching the organizational culture and promoting organizational values in day-day decision-making and execution
ix. Undertake all organizational priorities including administration, HR, and financial functions.
Eligibility
Candidates must be a postgraduate, preferably with a field leadership of 2 years, or a graduate with more than 5 years of experience. The candidate should have a personal motorcycle or be willing to have it within 2 months of joining. Candidates with the following skills are preferred:
● Passion for women empowerment, and willingness to travel in rural areas
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
● Leadership and Project Management Skills
● Basic data management skills
