JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant manager -SPA is responsible to raise funds and for resource mobilization for the organization. The job will include nurturing and acquisition of corporate relationships and strategic partnerships.

The position’s key focus will be to achieve the Corporate fund-raising goals of the region where he/she is operating. The position will be expected to influence Corporate decisions and actions in line with CARE’s core values and its strategic programming framework.  

S/he will identify ways in which future partners, donors and prospects can participate and contribute to effective development of communities. Towards achieving this the incumbent will need to have strong business development and client acquisition skills. This position will involve participation in corporate projects design processes and ensuring alignment with corporate expectations jointly with Program and Operations colleagues of CARE India. 

The incumbent will work closely with the Program team, sector specialists, advocacy, fund raising and Marketing and Communications team to create co-branding campaigns.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Fundraising and Partnership Development:

  • Work with focused target to generate revenue from new acquisition 
  • Acquire new corporate relationships for CARE India 
  • Develop and deepen existing donor relationships, ensuring that the organization maintains effective communication and good relationship with our donor partners, ensuring they are updated of our work and achievements 
  • Keep the team updated on changing donor priorities and ensure that new funding opportunities are identified and tracked in timely manner
  • Ensure a robust due-diligence process in order to methodically and strategically select corporate partners
  • Responsible for relationship building with Corporates around areas which are in sync with CARE India’s Program Strategy
  • Design a donor relationship development plan for each corporate donor/prospect and update annually
  • Prepare presentations, reports and other necessary documents for donors and prospect engagement
  • Act as Point Person for ensuring timely preparation and submission of all Progress Reports on Corporate Grants

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Graduate with 5 years of experience in Fundraising/ Business Development
  • Academic Development sector background desirable
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practice
  • Knowledge of donors that support work in our sector (desirable)
  • Understanding of the companies bill and the CSR environment in India
  • Donor and/or Client Relationship Management (CRM) experience with Corporates, high level
  • Corporate Executives, Corporate Boards, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, etc.
  • Basic understanding of program designing, monitoring & evaluation, reporting (desirable)
  • Passion for and basic understanding of Humanitarian and Development Programs
  • Proven track record of delivering fundraising/ business development success 
  • Proven experience of and ability to plan effectively for meeting donors, open to making cold calls 
  • Experience of budgeting and number crunching
