**Job Summary:**
Indus Action seeks a Zonal Director to lead operations within government departments, collaborating with civil society to improve citizen welfare access. This involves diagnosing process bottlenecks, prototyping solutions, monitoring effectiveness, and building systems for sustained program delivery. The role requires a minimum two-year commitment, with potential renewal. Projects focus on sustained livelihoods (particularly the Building and Other Construction Workers Act), credit disbursements, income generation, and other poverty alleviation initiatives.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Zonal Operations:** Diagnose welfare access challenges, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop scalable solutions, monitor intervention effectiveness, build operational structures and systems, develop and maintain policies and procedures, manage project plans and budgets, build and maintain relationships with external partners, serve as primary contact for key stakeholders, proactively identify and mitigate risks.
* **Strategic Planning:** Develop and execute scaling strategies, identify partnership opportunities, collaborate with technology and other teams to develop scalable solutions, seek advice from the Advisory Council.
* **Team Management:** Manage and mentor teams, provide feedback and coaching, strengthen team capacity in project management, collateral development, and knowledge management. Collaborate with other organizational functions.
* **Financial Management:** Monitor program budgets, provide regular updates to senior management and the Board of Directors, and fundraise for organizational projects.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s Degree (preference given to candidates with backgrounds in public policy or social science).
* Data analysis background required.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in program management, with at least 8 years in the social sector and 2 years in a leadership role.

Compensation will be based on Indus Action’s benchmarking rubric, considering qualifications, experience, and fit. The organization will cover the annual maintenance cost of the candidate’s laptop (up to 12,000 per year).
