CEGIS is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Indian citizens by assisting state governments in achieving better development outcomes.  CEGIS partners with state governments across India, focusing on four key areas: outcome measurement, personnel management, strategic public finance, and leveraging external actors.  Their work is informed by research and a practical approach, emphasizing collaboration and iterative improvement.  CEGIS is supported by philanthropic organizations and does not receive funding from the government (except for in-kind contributions).  Currently, CEGIS works with multiple state governments and national entities on various projects across sectors like education, nutrition, and local governance.  The organization has grown to over 150 members nationwide since its inception in 2019.

**Job Description:**

The Associate, Finance & Accounts will be responsible for general accounting tasks, including:

* Accounting using Tally software.

* Processing payments for vendors and consultants.

* Verifying and accounting for employee reimbursements.

* Ensuring compliance with TDS regulations.

This role reports to the Finance Manager/Associate Director – Finance.

**Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree.

* 3-8 years of experience in basic accounting.

* Proficiency in Tally accounting software.

* Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.

* A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting processes.

* Knowledge of social sector accounting is preferred.
