Your Role:

Your role is responsible to develop and implement CRY’s advocacy strategies to achieve policy outcomes that ensure the realization of the rights of children. The role will involve scanning external policies at regional, national and international level and engage with related external stakeholders like civil society, public representatives, Government officials, NCPCR, NHRC and think tank and think tanks. You will be working closely with CRY’s program implementation team and ensure that grassroot experiences are translated into advocacy agenda of the organization. Your role will also involve providing support in formulating CRY’s research and media related strategies and ensuring the use of evidence and media in advocacy.

You will be responsible in collating and sharing policy development updates, documentation, Policy briefs, analysis of legislation and policies from the perspective of the children, policy analysis and promoting effective knowledge building activities of CRY’s employees on various policies directly or indirectly related to Child Rights. You will be responsible to manage and develop your team member.

Other activities will involve:

  • Develop and manage consultants through anticipating and meeting articulated needs
  • Represent CRY in appropriate internal and external forums
  • Strategic use of Media in CRY advocacy initiative through collaborative efforts with Media Unit
  • Timely development of CRY Point Of Views to respond to external events and policy changes
  • Develop position papers on relevant thematic areas and update them regularly

You:

You should be a Master Degree in public policy / social sciences / law with ten to twelve years of work experience with at least three years of direct experience on policy advocacy concerning children; in depth understanding of child rights or other Human Rights issues is required along with good written and presentation skills.
