Position Overview:

Room to Read is seeking a skilled and motivated Technology Functional Analysis Associate to join our team. As a Technology Functional Analysis Associate, you will be responsible for conducting thorough analyses of our company’s systems and processes to identify improvements and implement changes that will help us operate more effectively. You will work closely with various departments throughout the organization to gather and document requirements, design solutions, and ensure that systems are aligned with business needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, substantial understanding of technology, and a proven record of successful project implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses of existing business systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Analyse, gather and document the business requirements to design appropriate solutions.
  • Design, test, and implement modifications to existing systems and processes.
  • Analyse, design, construct, test, and implement new systems or application enhancements as per trending technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that systems align with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as user manuals, functional specifications, and training materials.
  • Appropriately communicate project status, escalate issues, and manage timelines and action items of new projects and initiatives.
  • Support end users and prepare them for effective use of RtR systems and technologies by setting training programs and redefining new roles and responsibilities.
  • Actively drive issue resolution and closely monitor its progress.
  • Communicating information effectively to non-technical staff (Global and Country office) members through presentations, reports, and other creative written materials.
  • Working with other technical members of the country team to determine how best to apply new technologies to meet organizational goals and improve efficiency.
  • Develop, document, and maintain best practices, project standards, procedures, application, quality objectives and ‘lessons learned’, including metrics for assess.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends and technologies in the field of functional analysis. 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technologies, or equivalent field
  • 3+ years of experience in functional analysis,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools such as Asana, Jira
  • Familiarity with business analysis techniques such as data modeling and process modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT and computer science principles. 

Preferred:

  • Preferred experience in an environment of Education Management.
  • Basic programming skill would be an advantage such as Java, Python etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar tool is a plus.
