## Job Description: Manager – Business Development

**Job Location:** Noida, India

 

**Experience Required:**

 

2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in the development sector or Monitoring & Evaluation domains.

 

**Job Responsibilities:**

 

**A. Business Development & Market Intelligence:**

 

* Independently manage opportunities from the lead stage to commissioning.

* Collaborate closely with the Government Advisory vertical.

* Independently respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from government clients.

* Engage with potential clients, prepare and deliver presentations, track submitted bids, and analyze success and failure factors.

* Identify bidding and business opportunities through online and offline sources. Develop opportunities with new and existing clients, track upcoming RFPs, lead proposal development teams, etc.

* Evaluate bidding and business opportunities.

* Conduct market research and competitor analysis for specific bids and the broader sectoral landscape.

* Gather intelligence on potential leads and actively pursue their conversion into opportunities and commissioning.

* Assist in contract negotiations.

* Leverage unique skills and interests to develop new opportunity domains.

 

**B. Partnerships & Collaborations:**

 

* Lead the scouting, shortlisting, and selection of individuals and organizations for potential partnerships on a bid-specific or general basis.

* Act as a liaison with partner organizations, consultants, vendors, and other relevant agencies.

 

**C. Bid Preparedness:**

 

* Develop and update organizational collaterals, including capability documents, resumes, project description sheets, annual reports, etc.

 

**D. Marketing & Outreach:**

 

* Help create space and ensure the organization’s visibility at relevant public events, workshops, and seminars.

* Facilitate avenues for dialogue with print and electronic media.

* Actively meet potential partners and clients on a regular basis.

**Education:**

 

Postgraduate in Business/Rural/Development Economics and/or Management or any other Post-graduation with relevant experience.

 

**Personal Competencies:**

 

* Thematic understanding of various sectors in the social and development domain.

* Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders within and outside the organization.

* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

* Ability to build quality relationships with clients at all levels, including CxO level.

* High level of involvement, engagement, and ownership.

* Willingness to travel.

* Experience working on government tenders.

* Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize.

* Ability to understand, appreciate, and establish processes as needed.
