Job Description:

As part of its Green Initiatives programme, the Project ‘Waste No More’ end-end-waste management program has been initiated in Aurangabad through a unique public-private partnership model. SBI Foundation in partnership with Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), M/s Xynteo India Pvt. Ltd. as knowledge partners, M/s EcoSattva Environmental Solutions Pvt. Ltd. as operational partners and Centre for Applied Research and People’s Engagement as Information Education and Communication (IEC) Partners have collaborated to launch the program.

In this context, SBI Foundation is hiring a Centre Management & Monitoring Coordinator for Project Waste No More, Aurangabad. The incumbent will be a part of the program management team. They will work closely with the on-ground implementation team, third party auditor, and related vendors to facilitate all project management, monitoring and reporting activities. They will play a key role in SBI Foundation’s contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. 

Salary: Competitive, will match the expectations based on the experience & qualification. (Up to 3.6 lakhs)

Work-type: Contractual (on payroll of HR outsourcing agency)

Qualifications :

·         Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent diploma-level qualifications in related discipline

·        3+ years of experience in research, data collection and on-ground assessment of social impact

·        3+ years of project management in a fast paced, high growth environment preferred including the implementation of small and large-scale activities (such as overseeing       volunteer opportunities and event coordination)

·        Experience in operations and managing CSR initiatives is preferred including reporting and participating in programs that impact both informal sector and community

·        Field experience in managing vendors, participating in periodic evaluations and organising on-ground visits/events etc.

·        Excellent verbal communication and writing skills; fluency in Marathi is preferred

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Project management and reporting

·         Prepare weekly and monthly reports updating the progress on collection data, informal sector integration and IEC activities

·         Work closely with the implementation partners and monitor the progress made against the planned targets

·         Work with the implementation partners towards compliance, financial audits, project documentation as per SBI Foundation mandate and other necessary statutory compliances

·         Work and co-ordinate with the urban local bodies to drive the project

·         Map the end life use of the dry waste processed at the centre to establish traceability

2. IEC activities– Support NGO partner to drive IEC activities as per plan

  • Onboard housing societies / bulk generators towards implementing waste segregation and collection for dry waste
  • Collect letter of engagement from every onboarded housing societies/bulk generators towards full support during entire project implementation
  • Support NGO partner in training and capacity building of the housekeeping and cleaning staff in housing societies/bulk generators 
  • Oversee and report baseline data of household awareness level and dry waste generated in the sample locations 
  • Oversee and report end line data from societies/bulk generators; and measure the increase in waste segregation at source 
  • Source and collaborate with local activists/youth-based organisations to do large scale on ground events that drive behaviour change campaign  

3. Integrating the informal sector – Formal integration of informal sector 

·         GIS Mapping of the entire waste pickers across the Island of Excellence

·         Gradually integrating the informal sector by ensuring issuance of ID cards by HR agency, opening of bank accounts of the rag pickers 

·         Collect data and report on progress on informal sector integration

·         Work toward creating a unified supply chain by integrating the existing local aggregators and rag pickers  

4. Any other tasks as assigned by SBI Foundation

Although, the individual will work in a small team, it is essential that the chosen candidate can work in an independent manner to complete the given assignments in a time bound manner.
