About the Organization

Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre’s mandate is to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.

Job Description/Responsibilities

To assist Child Health Division in implementation of Home Based Young Care Program under the National Health Mission (NHM) with respect to following thematic areas:

  • Techno-managerial support to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in Child Health programmes with focus on planning, review, implementation of all work related to HBNC/ HBYC Program.
    Assist Child Health division, MoHFW in overall management of HBNC/HBYC data, reports etc.
  • Regular analysis of HBNC/HBYC programme data and coordinate & support States/UTs for timely reporting of HBYC data.
  • Develop plans for the capacity building on data analysis and its timely use for planning/budgeting.
    Periodic data analysis, programme review and submit reports to higher officers for decision making.
  • Contribute to/support the preparation/design and conduct/update of situation analysis to ensure timely comprehensive and current data on child health and related factors available to guide policy and development, design and management of nutrition programs/projects.
  • Support technical agency to develop data base management system of HBNC/HBYC Program reporting.
  • Support IT Agency to develop IT based tool/ Mobile based Application for HBNC/HBYC reporting.
  • Support States to upload HBNC/HBYC data on portal and review the program.
  • Liaise with developers to improve application performance through query optimization and establish best practices
  • Develop Excel-based standard report generation, Provide data management support to users.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master in Computer Application/ Information Technology/Population Studies/Statistics/Public Health
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the field of data and system development out of which 2-3 years’ experience of designing of websites/ portal related to health.
  • Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National Health Mission.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, analytical and interpersonal abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word, Excel, Power Point & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to states & districts to provide technical assistance & ability to work on different assignments simultaneously to meet the timelines for assignments.
  • Formal educational qualification and experience could be relaxed when there is published work of high quality or whenever there is work experience of specific relevance.
