TITLE: Community Manager

LOCATION: Bangalore, Mumbai, or Hyderabad

PURPOSE: The Community Manager builds strong networks amongst our mentor and mentee communities as a whole. The Community Manager is a collaborative leader who looks to deepen mentor and mentee connection with our program , drive engagement across the community through different activities, and activate the community for opportunities that come up.

QUALIFICATION: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any discipline (preferably in social work or related discipline).

EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years of experience in working with volunteers, youth, community engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creating, updating and organizing mentor and mentee network across databases [40% of time]

  • Maintain up-to-date, detailed records of community members across mentors, mentee, and partners, on Mentor Together’s internal and communication databases.
  • Manage status of members – alumni, current mentors/mentees
  • Drive data collection efforts that help update data records of members
  • Automate updation of databases to ensure information from different sources are synchronized.
  • Analyze and report on member and partner characteristics across a range of attributes

Driving engagement and connection amongst the network [30% of time]

  • Develop newsletters, presentations and other formats of content to be used to engage members and update them on a regular basis.
  • Invest in building relationships with key members of the community through regular check-ins and discussions.
  • Track mentoring progress and document success stories to highlight program successes.
  • Examines the effectiveness of our engagement efforts by gathering feedback on our program from all constituents.
  • Organize online and offline events to engage the community
  • Ensure effective planning, implementation and evaluation of program events and activities
  • Plan and implement formal and informal member and partner recognition activities

Activating the network for opportunities [30% of time]

  • Research and identify appropriate opportunities and partnerships that can create value for our mentee community for their personal and professional development.
  • Support program operations teams through recommendations and suggestions of members for different opportunities
  • Drive the recruitment and engagement of mentor and mentee advisory councils
  • Drive campaigns to mobilize funds from the mentor and mentee community for different goals:
  • Mentor Together’s corpus fund, Mentor Together’s program funds, Scholarship funds for mentees etc.

  • Ability to sequence and prioritize tasks, set timelines, and evaluate progress against schedule and goals.

Communicating Effectively

Effective and clear oral and written communication. Ability to use everyday communication to achieve goals with a range of stakeholders.

Stakeholder Relationships

Ability to understand the needs, expectations and respect the opinions of the key stakeholders to build mutually rewarding relationships.

Data Visualization & Analysis

  • Meticulous collection and verification of relevant program data.
  • Effective data analysis skills for weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting. Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions using data.

Ownership & Learning Attitude

  • Ability to set high goals and motivate self and others to achieve those.
  • High sense of responsibility demonstrated through learning from mistakes, seeking active feedback, willingness to take extra mile efforts to achieve milestones.

For our digital mentoring program Mentor To Go, we have built a technology platform and a digital mentoring partner ecosystem of over 100 individual educational institutions and NGOs, 3 Higher Education Government Departments, and over 40 different Corporate partners. Through this we help students learn a range of work readiness skills through self-learning sessions, personalized career mentorship of 6 months, and speed mentoring on different topics.
