**Project Overview:** This project aims to improve water efficiency in agriculture in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh, by implementing community mobilization and promoting water-efficient agricultural practices, tree plantations, and the creation/rejuvenation of water conservation structures.  The project addresses challenges such as increasing groundwater extraction and the negative impact of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on soil health.

 

**Position Summary:** The Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the overall monitoring, evaluation, and documentation (M&E) strategy for the project. This includes rolling out the Management Information System (MIS), ensuring data quality control, analyzing data, and visualizing findings to inform project implementation.  The role involves designing field surveys and assessments, working closely with other M&E staff, and reporting to the Project Coordinator and State Programme Manager.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Implement timely program evaluations, from baseline assessments to endline evaluations.

* Design data collection tools and templates to measure project outputs and outcomes.

* Develop and implement data collection and analysis plans to ensure project deliverables are met.

* Regularly assess project progress against baseline data and approved indicators.

* Lead data collection for the MIS, track data quality, and identify areas for improvement.

* Ensure timely submission of data to relevant systems.

* Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and support the field team.

* Ensure quality control of data for all reports.

* Create a system for timely updates to monitoring applications.

* Support the development of high-quality project progress reports.

* Identify training needs and organize M&E capacity building events.

* Document project learnings through case studies, policy briefs, and multimedia.

* Maintain photo documentation and a photo bank.

* Develop monitoring dashboards and data input systems.

* Facilitate external evaluations, including ToR development and coordination with evaluators.

* Review weekly reports to identify bottlenecks in project implementation.

* Support internal learning and experience sharing processes.

* Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

 

**Qualifications and Skills:**

 

* Post-graduate qualification in social sciences, statistics, or a related field.

* Experience in the social sector is preferred.

* Proficiency in advanced Excel and digital platforms (e.g., Google dashboards, SurveyCTO/ODK).  Experience with STATA/R/SPSS is a plus.

* Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English (written and verbal).

* Willingness to travel extensively within Barabanki district.

* Ability to meet short deadlines and produce high-quality materials.

* Commitment to improving the lives of marginalized communities.

 

 

**Position Tenure:** Full-time employment contract until March 2027, renewable based on project funding and need.
