As a Curriculum Senior Manager, your role will involve:

Design and Research

  • Continuously creating the finest curriculum and content to make learning meaningful and contextual for children (across art forms of theatre, storytelling, visual arts, poetry, photography, etc.)
  • Setting frameworks and parameters for the creation, review and design of content which are in line with SOL’s vision
  • Conceptualize and develop all aspects of learning modules including needs analysis, storyboarding, scripting, and curriculum production
  • Creating seamless processes and systems to strengthen the Curriculum vertical
  • Engaging with external and internal subject matter experts to support the creation of relevant, diverse and consciously designed curriculum and its implementation at scale
  • Creating feedback loops for curriculum to be reviewed, edited and finalized within set timelines

Implementation and Program Management 

  • Researching bright spots and best practices
  • Developing project-specific curriculum, manuals and other supporting material to ensure the attainment of learning and project outcomes
  • Building a network of professionals (translators, illustrators, designers and subject matter experts) and collaborating with them on projects
  • Identifying and creating assessment tools well-mapped with the curriculum
  • Visiting classrooms to observe curriculum implementation and map trends to make curriculum continually relevant, accessible and contextual

Learning, Developing and Experimenting with SOLmates

  • Aligning original content with relevant life and Creative Confidence skills, ensuring there is progression and scaffolding in the skill difficulty level
  • Leading, training and up-skilling the curriculum team members including interns to improve the work experience

The position is a full-time role requiring a commitment of 1.5-2 years, based out of any city in India which will be your reporting location and readiness to travel to sites, as per need. You will be joining our growing 2 member Curriculum team and will co-lead our goal of creating curriculum that impacts 20M children by 2025. This role will grow into an Associate Director role in two years with the opportunity to lead, scale and build new curriculum globally that caters to different project needs

Mindsets, skills and knowledge:

  • Expertise in conceptualising and designing curriculum for online and offline platforms that translates into achieving SOL’s mission
  • Solid understanding of concepts and frameworks of Social-Emotional learning, project-based learning, Art Education and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including an understanding of the context, user experience, use of appropriate content, mode and style to suit project-specific audience
  • Deep understanding of learning models, classroom management, engagement strategies and linguistics to build age-appropriate curriculum creatively
  • Strong knowledge of different layouts for print and web-based content with a keen eye for aesthetics, typography and composition to support the design strategy of curriculum
  • Attention to detail, an expert in understanding what works and what won’t in the curriculum
  • Be able to meet deadlines without compromising on the quality of work
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to think outside the box and generate innovative and creative content that appeals
  • Proficiency in the MS Office toolkit such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word and Design apps such as Canva
  • Written and spoken fluency in both Hindi and English

Education and Experience

  • A professional with 3 to 5 years of experience in relevant fields such as Instructional design, Curriculum development, assessment creation or education with minimum two years of industry-specific experience
  • Previous experience in curriculum design, pedagogy or linguistics and working with design apps such as Canva is a must
  • Experience with any of the arts would be an added advantage

Compensation: 7 – 12 L per annum, commensurate with skill and experience
