Duties and Responsibilities:
UNDP proposes to engage a Data Management Assistant to support the PMU at SC & ST Department, Government of Odisha to support for data management, processing and analysis for the department.
The Data Management Assistant will be part of the Project Management Unit and will work under the overall supervision of the PMU State Coordinator and in close collaboration with Programme Lead, Tribal Development, UNDP with functional support from State head of Office, UNDP Odisha.
- Provide support in collection, validation, storage and compilation of data. Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information, establishing entry priorities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Management Information Systems (MIS) and databases. Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
- Extend support to analyze data trends and patterns to support informed decision making & strategic planning.
- Coordinate with SPMU team for preparation and timely submission of the mandatory reports of various nature.
- Support in verifying entered applicant data by reviewing, correcting or deleting data. Provide support to the end users, helping them resolve data related issues.
- Support in maintaining records of letters/documents for the department. Scan documents and print files, when needed. Create back up files for all data.
- Provide assistance to technical staff to resolve computer and software problems.
- Assist in updating data on portals in coordination with different implementing agencies.
- The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Institutional Arrangement: - Direct Reporting To[1]: PMU State Coordinator, NPSA 8
- Overall Reporting To[2]: Programme Lead- Tribal Development, NPSA 9
- Reportees to this position (if applicable): Nil
[1] Direct Supervisor is responsible and accountable for supporting in day to day functions, provide work instructions, leave approval, conduct PMDs etc.
[2] Overall Supervisor is usually next in line to Direct Supervisor who manages overall team / unit and provide functional support as and when required and has overall responsibility to manage quality assurance

Required Skills and Experience
Min. Education requirements
Secondary education is required.
A university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in computer applications, or data related subjects, will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
Min. years of relevant work experience

Minimum 5 years of work experience (with Secondary Education) or 2 years (with bachelor’s degree) of work experience in rural and tribal development sector or relevant related field is required.Required skills
- Knowledge of data Management and use of portals and platform.
- Promotes teamwork, contributes towards building team-consensus.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- Sound knowledge of data compilation and data handling.
- Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section
- Understanding of data-collection methodologies and data analysis process.
- Relevant work experience in data entry in govt /private organization.
- Ability to prepare reports and good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Builds and maintains constructive relationships with colleagues (and reports where appropriate); treats people with respect, is co-operative, supportive and helpful with a positive contribution to the working environment.
- Ability of communicate, read, write and type in local language.
- Remuneration starting at INR 64,183 (Monthly) as per the scale depending on qualifications and experience. The remuneration is including 8.33% pension amount paid over and above the salary.
