**About the ICC:** The India Climate Collaborative (ICC), founded in 2020, coordinates and supports Indian philanthropists in scaling corporate and family philanthropy for climate impact.  We work to unlock philanthropic capital, identify key climate priorities, and create connective infrastructure.  The ICC’s key priorities include building a cohort of visionary climate philanthropists (India Climate Leaders), scaling corporate philanthropy for community-led climate solutions, pooling grant funds for system-level climate action, and enabling cross-sectoral investments to accelerate climate action.

 

**About India Climate Leaders (ICL):** The ICL program empowers and cultivates climate leaders among high-net-worth individuals in India.  The ICC advises these leaders, facilitating the direct flow of funds from philanthropists to climate solutions and organizations.  We do not charge for our services nor pool grant capital.

 

**Job Location:** Delhi, India (Mumbai considered)

 

**Job Summary:**

 

The Donor Relationship Manager is a key member of the ICL team, responsible for guiding and advising philanthropists. This role involves proactively engaging new donors, developing strategies to support their giving, and managing relationships with high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.  The successful candidate will work closely with the climate intelligence team to guide funding decisions and champion the climate sector.  This position requires a passion for philanthropy’s role in addressing climate change and the ability to build authentic relationships with donors to spur significant and timely action.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Develop strategies to engage new donors for climate solutions, including evaluating networks and options to encourage philanthropic engagement.

* Collaborate on content and strategy for philanthropy-focused events to attract new donors.

* Design and implement comprehensive donor plans to cultivate philanthropic learning and action on climate.

* Conduct research to understand potential donors’ priorities, giving styles, and interests to align engagement strategies.

* Partner with the climate intelligence team to source funding ideas for philanthropists.

* Develop and manage engagement materials, including presentations, proposals, and reports.

* Support assigned philanthropists’ journey from initial giving to scaled climate philanthropy.

* Coordinate and track activities, proposals, and commitments using the ICC’s database (Salesforce).

* Support philanthropists’ long-term commitment and maintain relationships with key donor and partner networks.

* Collaborate with the ICL team to set and iterate on annual and five-year goals.

 

**Skills and Experience:**

 

* 7+ years of relevant experience in non-profit, climate consulting, policy research, or field-based organizations.

* Expertise in principal development work or donor advising.

* Proven success in cultivating and stewarding eight-figure gifts from philanthropists, particularly ultra-high-net-worth donors.

* Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with convening capabilities.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

* Strategic mindset with the ability to translate priorities into operational reality.

* Experience with customer relationship management systems (a plus).

* Prior climate experience (a plus).
