About the Secondary Schools Program

Quest Alliance has been working in the secondary school for the past few years.The program was initiated in 2015 with 4 schools. It scaled to 10 states in 2019 with the goal to reach out to 200,000 adolescent girls by the end of three years. The program will work with 8 to 10 implementing partners across 1000 government schools. 

The program is looking to work with grades VIII to XII over a period of 3 years. The key thematic areas are: lifeskills, gender, digital literacy, coding (basic and advanced levels), career development. Technology is a key aspect of the program. 

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced person who has prior experience in planning and execution of the technical support from assessment to deployment stage of the IT infrastructure and related peripherals. Your role will be a blend of technical, capacity building and support skills. You will be key to supporting the innovation thought process and contributing to building the ed-tech strategy for the program as a whole. 

You will be responsible for:

Tech Support

Master Coach for teachers and Student facing digital content on QUESTApp (Learning App)

  • Troubleshooting Technical issues related to QUESTApp/Change Leaders platform, hardware, and networking at the site.
  • Following SOP to register/modify/de-register users on QUESTApp with required privileges for different categories of users – Organization, School, batch, facilitator/teacher, and student/learner management
  • Support pilot testing and implementation in the respective region
  • Working closely with internal and external parties along with the team to build capacity on QUESTApp/Change leaders platform features and management.

Chatbot Management & Support

  • New content upload
  • Maintenance of teacher/student facing chatbot
  • Bug reporting and resolution
  • Ensure data stream pipeline readiness as per agreed MnE framework, which can then be ported for ETL(extract transform and load) and visualization

Interactive Voice Response System(IVRS)

  • Ensure 100% uptime of the portal
  • Date pipeline readiness for visualisation and reporting purpose.

STEM Clubs

  • Participation in design and delivery of state level hackathons
  • Supporting the selection of partners and material procurement
  • Support in conducting Coding Camps across the field locations.

Programme Support

  • Installation and testing of systems in all deployment locations (whether physically or remotely)
  • Creating SD cards for Learnpi server and client devices
  • Quality check of learnpi, accessories & SD card
  • Support in maintaining relationships with vendors / local engineers for maintenance, troubleshooting etc.
  • Address issues that are logged via a ticketing system and ensure resolution within agreed SLA.
  • Preparing installation manuals and guides for the partner stakeholders to install the software or the programme in the computer systems of the schools.
  • Create a database of vendors for facilitating IT audits, laptops rentals and other IT material provision.

Requirements

Required skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience, in handling IT infrastructure deployment and support
  • Excellent IT skills and Hands-on experience on coding
  • Is excited about the opportunity to integrate technology into education and other allied areas
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Must have – Basic Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, PHP and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of Raspberry Pi board and Raspbian OS Knowledge in MySQL database management
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams
  • Good to have – Skills in GNU/Linux (Ubuntu and Debian) server management and experience in using Linux bash commands and Cron jobs
